Gerrardanthus lobatus is a vining, caudex-forming plant native to eastern and southern Africa. It’s caudex is a more attractive bottle shape compared to the more often grown macrorhizus.
Requires very well drained soil to prevent root rot. Leave dry in winter. Needs sun and warmth but avoid harsh direct sun in summer.
These are well established plants, actively vining with developing fat bases offered in 5 Inch terracotta pots.
Available for pickup potted in San Francisco, otherwise ship bare-root without pot.
