Operculicarya pachypus is a small deciduous tree from Madagscar. It is similar to the much more common Operculicarya decaryi but with much greater potential for the development of a contorted fat trunk and a compact overall form. It’s small leaves give the resulting tree a striking bonsai-like appearance.
Plants ship bare-root without pots.
Hardy once established this tree requires full or partial direct light. Very well draining soil. Water sparingly during growing season, minimal water during winter dormancy when the plant will often be leafless.
